Sarah Karp Ward is one of the most astute and prescient minds working in social media today. She is a rare talent with a keen grasp on content, engagement, and analytics, providing clients a 360 perspective and strategies to all their interactive needs. In over ten years of working in the digital space, Ward has advised clients as varied as entertainment networks, publishing companies, tech, and luxury brands. She specializes in crafting layered campaigns that mix organic and paid strategies, using the top platforms to build online communities for editorial and marketing purposes. Ward’s career in digital media began in 2010 when she left a promising career in fashion to experiment with social media, digital marketing and copywriting. Her quick grasp of the mediums and an intuition about content and engagement led her to the iconic Playboy brand which hired Ward to re-strategize the social accounts for its digital, TV, and radio channels from their Montréal office. After a year, she was recruited by MTV in New York to develop department-wide social media guidelines and strategies for internal talent, in-office performance, and off-site events.

Her next role took her to Three Lions Entertainment, a media brand started by a Conde Nast veteran, as its Lead Social Media Strategist. In this position, Ward directed campaigns for its “Fashion Rocks” live broadcast on CBS during New York Fashion Week. Her work in raising awareness of the much-heralded event with young audiences across established and emerging platforms brought her to the attention of Horizon Media, which brought her on her to oversee social and influencer strategy for the Weight Watchers brand.

In 2014, Ward launched Lucky Karp. Through her agency, she has consulted on a wide portfolio of brands, including Facebook, Oculus, Maison Birks, LG Electronics, Mercato, Nestio, Healthmark, Romio, Suntory, THINX, belif, DigiCards, and Already Baked Cakes. Additionally, Ward created influencer content for her personal and dog’s social media account for brands like Rent the Runway, OpenTable, Banks Journal, Febreze, Scentworx, Happy Pet, and more.

A consulting opportunity with Rosé Mansion, an Instagrammable experiential wine tasting in New York City, in 2018 led Ward to accept a full-time role as their Head of Marketing & Communications . In this position, she managed a team tasked with social media, influencer, digital marketing, public relations, and partnerships for the popular 32,000 sq. ft. experience.

As Director of Social Operations at 180NY, Ward spearheaded the development and execution of social media and influencer marketing initiatives for renowned brands such as Duncan Hines, Slim Jim, Poo-pouri, Adidas, and Oxygen Banking. Through these experiences, she fostered strong relationships with influencers, creators, agents, and managers and was involved in every step of the process, from sourcing to negotiation and contracting to execution and wrap-up reporting. Internally at the agency, Ward managed a diverse team of 10 professionals across production, project management, strategy, and design.

In her recent role at Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis, Ward’s focus as on nonprofit, entertainment, and B2B clients including Brillio, Earth Alliance, Fashion Institute of Technology, Flexport, Global Citizen, Jordan Fisher, Leonardo DiCaprio, Steve Jobs Archive, XPRIZE, and more. She successfully built brand awareness for these clients and supported digital fundraising initiatives around events and launches on social media and in partnership with public relations outreach. Additionally, Ward redesigned the agency's analytics offerings and brought paid social campaign management in-house, which led to increased client budgets and data-driven strategic direction.

Sarah Karp Ward graduated with a BFA in Fine Arts in 2006. She recently moved Hartford, Connecticut, near her childhood home, with her husband, Parvez, their daughter, Sunny, their Puerto Rican rescue dog, Foxy, and the eternal spirit of their rude Pomeranian, Lucky.
